Mine Kasapoğlu, B.A. in Economics and Philosophy, Minor in Studio Art from Gettysburg College, Pennsylvania. Professional Photography education in Speos Photographic Institute, Paris, France, has been one of the official photographers of the Olympic Games since 2002. She has covered 9 Olympic Games Salt Lake 2002, Athens 2004, Torino 2006, Beijing 2008, Vancouver 2010, London 2012, Sochi 2014, Rio 2016, Pyeong Chang 2018, and looking forward to taking photos for Tokyo 2020.
She, herself, had been in the Turkish National Ski Team from 1993 to 1994 and in the Turkish National Snowboard Team from 2006 to 2010. This experience enables her to empathize with the psychology of athletes and capture the moment of feelings. Her ambition is mostly taking swimming photographs.
She has also worked for magazines like Vogue, Glamour, Marie Claire, and Elle, but her passion is the Olympic Games as she is a member of the Turkish Olympic Committee. Some of her photographs are in the permanent collection of the Olympic Museum in Lausanne.
Mine Kasapoğlu says that sports photography is a field dominated by men. Men, with their photographic style and an incredibly good technique can capture like a hunter action photos without any difficulty. Mine explains, however, that she focuses on photos that are more emotional and which show the psychological states of sportspeople.
Soon, she is going to publish her photography book.
She is living in between Istanbul and Vienna with her husband and two daughters.
